Theatre by the Lake has two gallery spaces used throughout the year for a wide variety of exhibitions by professional and amateur artists, groups and societies. Click here for further information about current and forthcoming exhibitions.
Admission to the Circle and Friends' Galleries is free. As both galleries are occasionally closed to the public, please check in advance with Box Office on 017687 74411 if you have only one opportunity to visit an exhibition.
The Friends’ Gallery (1st floor)
This space provides approximately 17.5m of linear wall space with pre-theatre suppers served here in the evenings. This gallery is generally open to the public each day from 9.30am until the end of the evening performance.
Circle Gallery (2nd Floor)
This gallery provides approximately 26m of linear wall space and access to this space will normally be limited to the evenings. This area is also used as our Circle Bar serving drinks on performance nights and the space is also occasionally used for private meetings, rehearsals and receptions.
Artists or groups wishing to exhibit work in either space should send a letter of application together with a CV and photographs (or CD) of work to: Sophie Curtis, Artistic Co-ordinator, Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, Cumbria, CA12 5DJ.
If you would like to find out more about exhibitions at Theatre by the Lake, please contact Sophie on 017687 72282 during normal office hours or email enquiries@theatrebythelake.com
Please note: The theatre receives many more applications for exhibitions than we have slots available and an application therefore does not guarantee that we will be able to offer an artist an exhibition. All applications are considered in relation to the balance between the work shown in the two galleries and the audiences for visual arts at the theatre.
